City Council meetings are held the first and third Mondays each month
at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, second floor, Hall of Waters

What
is the price and requirements for animal licenses for dogs and cats?
Citizens
must provide a copy of the animal's updated shot records. The license
for spayed or neutered animals is $10.00 annually, due by February 28th.
The license for non-spayed or neutered animals is $20.00.
Who
is required to obtain an occupational license, and what is the fee?
Any
person or company conducting business within the City of Excelsior Springs
is required to posess a valid City of Excelsior Springs occupational license.

Who
is required to purchase a city sticker, and what is the fee?
A city
sticker is required for any resident of Excelsior Springs that owns a
vehicle or motorcycle. To purchase a city sticker, you must present proof
that you paid the current year's personal property tax either for Excelsior
Springs, or for the city or county you moved from. City sticker prices
vary depending on the month of the year. Please contact the City of Excelsior

What
charges are included on my water bill?
Your
are charged for water, sewer, refuse collection, tax primacy fee and sewer
connection fee.
When
and where can I make utility and tax payments?
City
offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM. City Hall
is located in the Hall of Waters Building, 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior
Springs, MO.
What
is required to establish water service?
The
city requires a citizen to come in person to the Hall of Waters, 201 E.
Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO., 24 hours before a service connection
is needed. A $100.00 refundable deposit, lease agreement or property purchase
paperwork, and a photo ID are needed. Additional information may be requested
at the cashier's window
Does
the City of Excelsior Springs Fire Department offer an ambulance membership
program?
A program is available on a limited basis. Please see Ambulance

May
I burn trash and or yard waste within the city limits?
No,
burning is illegal within the city limits. Recreational burning (bonfires
and hot dog roasts) require permission from the Fire Department. A burn
permit can be found by going to Burn
Permit.
What
is considered Yard Waste?
Yard
waste consists of leaves, grass clippings, tree parts, vegetable and flower
garden plants, wood chips and brush trimmings. Leaves, grass clippings,
plants and wood chips must be placed in biodegradable paper bags.
Brush trimmings and tree limbs should be tied with twine in 4 ft lengths.
Logs or limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter will not be accepted.
When
is a building permit required, how do I get one, and how much do they
cost?
A permit
is required when you construct, enlarge, alter or demolish a structure.
It is not required if your project is strictly cosmetic (flooring or drywall
replacement). Permit applications are available in the Inspection Department
or can be downloaded at Building Permits.

and When is Municipal Court Held?
Municipal
Court is helt in the Hall of Waters Building, 2nd Floor, 201 E. Broadway,
Excelsior Springs, MO. Court dates and times vary. Call (816) 630-0209
to verify your date and time.
Can
I rent a room at the Jud Palmer Community Center or reserve a shelter
house at one of the city parks?
Yes,
rooms in the community center are available to rent and shelters may be
reserved with a small deposit. Please call (816) 630-1040 for more information.
Where
can I obtain a City of Excelsior Springs Map?
Maps
may be purchased in the planning and zoning department office, located
on the lower level of the Hall of Waters Building, 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior
Springs, MO. There is a $4.00 fee per map.
Am
I required to have a permit for a garage sale?
No
permit is required.
How
do I report a pothole or other problem with the streets in Excelsior Springs?
The
Publice Works Department is responsible for all street maintenance in
